$125,569-$150,053 (DOQ)
LENGTH OF CONTRACT: 221-Day Contract

POSITION INFORMATION:
The Director of STEM Initiatives leads development and implementation of curriculum and programs in science, math, and STEM-related initiatives. This position is supervised by the Assistant Superintendent of Instruction and provides district-level guidance and support for schools. This position is a member of the Superintendent’s Leadership Council.
Pasco is a rich, culturally diverse, vibrant community, and has been one of the fastest growing districts in the state for over ten years. As a result, the district has sustained an ambitious capital projects program, opening four new schools in 2021. The total combined budget for 2021-2022 was over $288 million, supporting over 18,000 students.
THE DISTRICT SEEKS A CANDIDATE WITH:
- Valid WA State Teacher’s certificate and valid WA State Principal’s credential
- Minimum 3 years demonstrated successful K-12 administrative experience; Principal experience preferred
- Experience with various technology platforms and/or mobile devices
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement innovative programs pertaining to the research-based application of STEM initiatives and the use of technology to enhance teaching and learning
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge and experience working with diverse student populations
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and successfully with staff, students, patrons to innovate and implement STEM initiatives and to assess and design STEM-related professional development programs that are aligned with state standards
- Demonstrated leadership and experience in supervision and evaluation of staff
- Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment and work well under pressure
- Experience and/or knowledge of bilingual education and the learning needs of students impacted by poverty
- Support and communicate district philosophy
- Knowledge and experience in improving student achievement based on state and national learning standards, school improvement plan, and all other state requirements
- Skills appropriate to manage personnel and programs, communicate effectively, utilize existing resources, engage in shared decision making, take timely action using sound judgment, and solve problems
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead development and implementation of core curriculum in math, science, health and related content
- Lead implementation of MTSS for math and science
- Lead implementation and professional development for Professional Learning Communities
- Support implementation of curriculum in dual language classrooms
- Support development and refinement of STEM initiatives K-12
- Work collaboratively with other department directors in implementation of five outrageous outcomes
