POSITION:                  HVAC/Refrigeration Specialist

                                    Maintenance Building 210                                                                             

EFFECTIVE DATE:        Immediately

 

SALARY:                      $32.44 - $35.81 per hour

 

SCHEDULE:                  8 hrs per day, Monday through Friday

                                    7:00 a.m. –3:30 p.m.

                                   260 day - work year                                                                         

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED: (Qualifications which are essential to the position)

*High School Diploma or equivalent with strong skills in erading, writing and communication with three (3) years of experience as a craftsperson at the journey level in HVAC systems with electronic, PLC and pneumatic controls

*Excellent safety record and demonstrated ability for proper care, use and maintenance of equipment

*Applicable vocational training may be substituted for work experience on a year for year basis

*Must meet physical requirements for the position

*Knowledge, experience and proven ability in the building trades

*Demonstrated skill in technical aspects of electrical/mechanical installation and maintenance

*Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems and make repairs

*Abiliyt to read blueprints

*Ability to read and follow directions

*Working knowledge of boiler heater systems

*Must show evidence of work planning and execution that requires little supervision

*Ability to rate and organize job priorities to meet performance deadlines and to maintain accurate records of time spent on project

*Ability to operate all power equipement related to building trades and grounds, and perform minor repair when necessary

*Ability to supervise unskilled seasonal help

*Knowledge of safe use of chemicals and equipment

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

DESIRED: (Qualifications which are not required, but would be useful to the position)

*Bilingual/Biliterate English/Spanish

 

 

                             ***Specific Duties and responsibilities***

Primary duties will include, but are not limited to:

*Ability to establish and maintain effecive working relationships with staff

*Ability to work independently

*Knowledge of safety procedures and required to perform work to meet all Washington Code requirements

*Valid Washington State Driver's License

*Training in CPR and First Aid Certification or obtain within 6 months

*Ability to keep good attendance

*Work related experience in refrigeration; commercial, appliance, heating; electrical and gas ventilation, dust work, pneumatic controls

*Licensed refrigeration reclaimer certification

*Familiarity with computers and computerized HVAC systems, desirable

*Perform journeyman level HVAC and Refrigeration work in the maintenance and repair of facilities units throughout the school district

*He/she will perform any other duties as part of the district maintenance team

*Must be in good physical condition/ requires dexterity and precision

*Required to lift and carry heavy objects weighing up to 60 lbs on a regular basis

*Required to work on ladders and at heights (including roofs and attics) and to work effectively in tight quarters

*Required to use ground machinery with moving parts

*Required to wear protective clothing or devices

*Exposed to high noise levels

*Required to work outdoors in inclement weather

*Exposed to clear and present danger to personal safety whtn working with high voltage panels
