JOB ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR

POSITION:    Special Services Special Education Teacher Structured Learning Center (SLC) 

                       Stevens Middle School

 

SCHEDULE:   2024 – 2025 School Year

 

SALARY:       Based on the 2024 - 2025 Teacher Salary Schedule

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: (Qualifications which are essential to the position)

*Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with Special Education endorsement

*Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree

*Demonstrated ability with autism or structured learning classrooms or willingness to attend trainings

*Ability to collaborate effectively with general education and special education staff

*Knowledge and understanding of Special Education students on the Autism Spectrum (ASD)

*Knowledge of social thinking curriculum

*Knowledge of visual strategies and visual schedules/supports

 

QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED: (Qualifications which are not required, but would be useful to the position)

*Bilingual/Biliterate in English/Spanish

*Endorsed in two or more disciplines

*Previous classroom teaching experience

*Computer knowledge and literacy

*Willingness to work with Special Education students on the Autism Spectrum

*Willingness to learn strategies to address ASD students

*Experience with visual systems

*Experience with social stories
