POSITION:                 Behavior Intervention Tutor

                                   Secondary Position

 

EFFECTIVE DATE:      Immediately

 

SALARY:                    $24.13 - $25.24 per hour AA Degree

                                  $25.09 - $26.26 per hour BA Degree

 

 

SCHEDULE:                 6 hours per day, Monday through Friday

                                   180 day – work year

                                                                                                                                                

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED: (Qualifications which are essential to the position)

*AA degree; BA preferred

*Ability to establish and maintain professional, cooperative working relationships

*Demonstrated exemplary customer service and responsiveness

*Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with staff, students and patrons

*Must follow supervisory directions and employ personal initiative when necessary

*Demonstrated punctuality and an excellent work attendance record

*Must work within designated bounds of authority and confidentiality

*Experience in working with students

*Knowledge and successful implementation of strategies for working with students who lack behavioral skills or willingness to be trained

*Ability to follow safe work practices and procedures

*Delivery of behavioral interventions, build relationships and assist the school staff to support students with behavioral health needs in partnership with families, community, and community service providers.

*Responsible for maintenance of accurate program records and working with supervisor to plan instruction.

*First Aid Card

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

DESIRED: (Qualifications which are not required, but would be useful to the position)

*Willingness to use evaluation data and constructive criticism to improve performance

*Record keeping and computer skills

  

Specific Job Duties include:

*Collect and analyze student behavior data and monitor student academic and behavioral progress

*Assist students in meeting behavioral goals

*Support students in following their behavior plans

*Utilize de-escalation techniques consistently

*Attend student centered coaching trainings

*Provide reflection opportunities with students

*Provide reteaching opportunities within self-regulation and management

*Provide small group interventions for small groups as needed

*Work with teachers to implement best practices in classroom management

*Other duties as assigned
