POSITION:           Transitional Kindergarten Teacher - 1.0 FTE

                            Rowena Chess Elementary

SCHEDULE:          2021 - 2022 School Year

SALARY:               Based on the 2021 - 2022 Teacher Salary Schedule

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED: (Qualifications which are essential to the position)

*Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with applicable endorsements

*Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree

*Knowledge of Balanced Literacy or willingness to learn

*Willingness to participate in sheltered training such as Guided Language Acquisition Design (GLAD)

*Ability and willingness to work toward improving student achievement based on state and national standards, school improvement plan, and all other state requirements

*Ability and willingness to participate in required trainings and professional development opportunities

*Demonstrate a core belief system that matches the guiding principles and vision/mission of the school and be willing to operate accordingly

*Willingness to work with a system that allows for peer collaboration and student intervention within the work day

*Willingness to implement best practice strategies for student learning and interventions

*Willingness to participate collaboratively with staff members for the purpose of improving student learning including cross grade level and grade level partners

*Willingness to participate in training required by the state

*Willingness to participate in training and use Creative Curriculum for instruction *Willingness to implement a developmentally appropriate classroom structure

*Willingness to upload documentation and use Teaching Strategies GOLD to monitor and report student progress 

QUALIFICATIONS:

DESIRED: (Qualifications which are not required, but would be useful to the position)

*ECE endorsement

*Previous successful classroom teaching experience with young learners

*Bilingual/Biliterate in English/Spanish
