POSITION: Level Literacy Intervention (LLI) Teacher - 0.5 FTE

SCHEDULE: 2021 - 2022 School Year
SALARY: Based on the 2021 - 2022 Teacher Salary Schedule
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED: (Qualifications which are essential to the position)
*Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate
*Minimum three (3) years of successful experience in bilingual education setting
*Minimum of three (3) years Balanced Literacy instruction experience
*Evidence of successful Balanced Literacy development instruction and implementation
*Knowledge of bilingual education or endorsement in bilingual education
*Ability to provide staff development and training as it pertains to the position
*Willingness to collaborate and work as defined by the school improvement plan
*Proven record of working cooperatively with staff
*Knowledge of Washington State Standards
*Previous experience with Guided Language Acquisition Design (GLAD)
*Experience with implementation and interpretation of student assessments
*Knowledge of and ability to implement federal and state rules and regulations
*Proven record of strong organizational skills
*Proven record of strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise others
*Knowledge of Late-Exit Bilingual Program
*Effective communication skills
QUALIFICATIONS

*Master of Arts Degree in Education
*Bilingual/Biliterate in Spanish/English
REPORTS TO: Elementary School Supervising Administrator
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The LLI teacher will attend required trainings and meetings as it pertains to the position. The LLI teacher is responsible to carry out the requirements of the position, which requires at a minimum observation, training, record keeping and assessing. The LLI teacher will implement the program with targeted students.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (LLI):
*Exerts a positive influence on the total school environment and seeks to provide assistance
*Works closely with other building staff in matters pertaining to student data
*Provides support and leadership to staff and administration regarding pupil record keeping
*Insures appropriate identification of targeted students by administering appropriate assessments
*Organizes and administers appropriate and required testing of students
*Meets with other facilitators to transition students from elementary to middle school
*Maintains all program documentation accurately and in a timely manner
*Meets with district level administrators as needed for program requirements
*Organizes and manages student learning/intervention plans
*Assists with the registration of students and orients them to school procedures
*Reviews schedules and grades regularly
*Participates in case study conferences as needed, including the securing, interpreting and integrating of specific test and non-test data
*Facilitates support services
*Encourages and supports Guided Language Acquisition Design (GLAD)
*Assists in the identification and procurement of appropriate instructional materials for programs as required by supervisor
*Takes a leadership role in parent involvement
*Participates in schoolwide/school improvement activities as required by supervisor
*Works with ELL and PHLOTE students and their parents as determined by building administrators
*Identifies and follows-up on targeted students throughout their educational program
*Takes an active role in interpreting the school’s objectives to targeted students, parents and the community
*Interprets health records, attendance records, cumulative progress records, activity records, transcript records and special programs data base records for targeted students
*Insures compliance with federal, state and district rules, regulations and policies
*Generates and disseminates, with classroom teachers, student learning plans
*Performs related duties as assigned
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of all employees.
