SALARY:
$23.48 - $24.58 per hour - Educational Signer/Interpreter
$32.48 - $33.80 per hour - Earn minimum score of 4.0 on the EIPA
$37.76 - $39.34 per hour - National Certification- NIC/RID
SCHEDULE: Up to 6.5 hours per day, Monday-Friday
180 day – work year
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED: (Qualifications which are essential to the position)
*High School Diploma or equivalent
*Proficient sign language skills in a variety of systems
*Must be proficient in ASL
*Evidence of successful ability to work with the deaf/hearing impaired
*Demonstrated ability to carry out prescribed instructional management program
*Patience and warmth in working with students
*Ability to assume role of educational assistant and role of interpreter
*Demonstrated exemplary customer service and responsiveness
*Ability to work effectively with professionals in a school setting
*Must work within designated bounds of authority and confidentiality
*Demonstrated punctuality and an excellent work attendance record
*Ability to establish and maintain professional, cooperative, working relationships
*Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with staff, students, and patrons
*Ability to follow safe work practices and procedures
QUALIFICATIONS:
DESIRED: (Qualifications which are not required, but would be useful to the position)
*Successful experience interpreting for hearing impaired students in a school setting
*Bilingual/Biliterate English/Spanish
TYPICAL DUTIES:
Working with hearing impaired students
