POSITION: Non-Instructional Paraeducator-Time Out/Recovery Room Stevens Middle School
SCHEDULE: 2023-2024 School Year
SALARY: $18.78 - $20.44 per hour
AA Degree - $.50 per hour extra/
BA Degree $.75 per hour extra
SCHEDULE: 7 hours per day, Monday-Friday
180 day-work year
QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED: (Qualifications which are essential to the position)
*High School Diploma or equivalent
*Ability to establish and maintain professional, cooperative working relationships
*Demonstrated punctuality, flexibility and an excellent work attendance record
*Must work within designated bounds of authority and confidentiality
*Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with staff, students, and patrons
*Must follow supervisory directions and assignments and employ personal initiative when necessary
*Ability to follow safe work practices and procedures
*Ability to develop plans to address student behavior
*Demonstrate and model above average language skills which includes both oral and written skills
*Ability to maintain proper behavior of students in the in-school suspension room
*Ability to contact parents regarding behavior and academic performance
*Ability to work with conduct disorder students and assist students with assigned lessons from teachers
DESIRED: (Qualifications which are not required, but would be useful to the *College or on-the job training experience as a paraeducator
*Bilingual English/Spanish
*Willingness to study materials provided by supervisory personnel and/or take college classes to improve basic instructional skills
*First aid card preferred
*Knowledge and experience with Love and Logic and Recovery Process
