POSITION: Sageview High School Planning Team (Multiple Positions) 

 

SCHEDULE:

  • After-school meetings Spring 2024 (Up to two meetings per/month) 
  • Professional development dates TBD (Summer 2024) 
  • August 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR (Up to four meetings per/month) 

 SALARY: Per Diem (up to 150 hours) based on current Teacher Salary Schedule  
 

The district seeks multiple certificated staff members, representing diverse content areas and/or certificated support positions to become members of Sageview High School Planning Team.  The team will be facilitated by the Sageview High School Planning Principal and will operate as the planning body for the school.  

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (Essential qualifications for the positions) : 

  • Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with applicable high school endorsements 
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree 
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities and deadlines. 
  • Demonstrated organizational ability, punctuality, and exceptional work attendance record. 
  • Demonstrated ability to implement research-based instructional strategies and focus on evidence-based assessments and interventions as developed by the school. 
  • Demonstrated passion and enthusiasm for working with all children, regardless of background or disability. 
  • Demonstrated experience in leading or successfully implementing district or school initiatives. 
  • Demonstrated experience as a collaborative leader among peers. 
  • Demonstrated a core belief system that matches the guiding principles and vision/mission of the school and be willing to operate accordingly. 
  • Ability to effectively communicate and express ideas clearly to various stakeholders, while also actively listening to others. 
  • Leadership with implementation of Tier 1 instruction to increase rigor and relevance for students in the classroom; Experience implementing AVID preferred.  
  • Willing and able to meet the commitments in this job description. 

DESIRED OR PREFERENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Training, experience, or deep understanding of high-yield instructional strategies outlined in the Pasco School District’s Strategic Plan. 
  • Leadership and experience in leading professional development. 
  • Leadership and experience in working with High School Students. 
  • Leadership and experience in leading the implementation of the Pasco School District's five priorities.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • The deliverable(s) at the end of the planning time together will be: 
    • Visionary Leadership: 
      • Contribute to the realization of the school's vision by actively participating in vision-setting professional development and aligning instructional practices with the established goals. 
    • Professional Development Planning: 
      • Collaborate with team members to plan and execute professional development sessions aimed at establishing a unified mission, commitments, and goals for the school staff, around Research-Based Practices. 

    • Research-Based Practices: 
      • Work collaboratively to identify and implement intentional, research-based practices that will form the pedagogical foundation of the new high school, ensuring the delivery of high-quality education. 
    • Positive School Culture Development: 
      • Play a key role in designing and implementing systems that foster a positive school culture among both staff and students. Develop strategies to promote a collaborative and supportive environment. 
  • The team will also have significant input and recommendations to the planning principal on issues including but not limited to: Programming (student learning activities, staff development, etc.) and procedures (student discipline, communications, etc.). 

 

SPECIFIC COMMITMENTS: 

  • Ability and willingness to attend all Professional Development meeting dates scheduled for summer 2024. Attend Spring 2024 and 2024-2025 regular meetings and professional development. 
  • Co-lead all staff retreats in August 2025 
  • Planning team members are expected to open Sageview High School during the 2025-2026 school year as part of the faculty.
